About Me

Hi, I'm Weiheng.

I'm a Ph.D. candidate in English at the Graduate Center, CUNY, with a focus on ecocriticism, the Anthropocene poetics, environmental justice, and dystopian novels.

- As a teacher, I strive to create an inclusive, equitable, diverse, and accessible learning environment for my students. I'm passionate about using technological tools to support and enhance the learning and teaching experience, while being aware of their limitations. I’ve been teaching writing-intensive English classes for four years at the college level.

- As a writing fellow, I'm interested in how to use writing to promote critical thinking and learning. I have two one-year writing fellowships of Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC), where I train and certify instructors of different disciplines to teach writing-intensive courses, organize writing-related workshops for faculty and students, and design WordPress website.

- As a UX designer and educational technologist, I have designed college-wide and CUNY-wide websites for faculty and students, prioritizing user experience and accessibility. I hold a Google UX Design Professional certificate.

- As a distance runner, I am an advocate of self-learning. Taking care of your body, paying attention to it, and actively getting to know it is the most important part of running. I am against coaches who are driven by capitalistic pursuits that put performance before the health of the athlete.
